We have Home Office funding confirmed until March 2026. Here are some of the projects currently funded by the core funding, and allocation of Serious Violence Duty funding.

Start to Finish

Working with young people age 16 to 24 years, the Start to Finish worker supports individuals who are already involved in criminality and violence. They are funded by the North Somerset Violence Reduction Partnership and work with young people to establish the root cause of their circumstances and plan to increase their future opportunities.

Community engagement

We regularly lead or support days and weeks of action linked to crime and violence awareness. We work collaboratively with partners and communities to reach as many people as possible, enabling community voices to be heard including within schools and college.

Blunt Truth

The North Somerset Violence Reduction Partnership are delivering knife crime and knife carrying awareness sessions to secondary school students across our area. We work with Army Reserve medics, Avon Fire and Rescue and colleagues from neighbourhood policing to deliver these sessions.

Safe spaces

We are working with community groups to support the development of safe spaces for young people in the Weston-super-Mare area.

Bike project

This project helps students to build communication and practical skills in repairing a bike. It is staffed by the Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) and neighbourhood policing staff. The sessions allow for discussions and education with a view to increasing their practical skills in dismantling, repairing and rebuilding bikes, and communication. Schools work with the VRP to identify young people currently on role at their provision, but at risk of exclusion.
