The Community Safety Team ensures that the Council meets its statutory responsibilities under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 through promoting Community Safety and reducing the fear of crime and disorder in North Somerset.
Much of the work managed by the Community Safety Team is strategic in nature and we take a coordinating role for the Council in working with partner agencies to develop, implement and monitor Community Safety strategies and plans set out by the Community Safety Partnership.
The Community Safety Team manages the following areas:
- Anti-Social Behaviour & Environmental Crime
- Crime prevention advice
- Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls
- Hate Crime
- Modern Slavery
- Problem-solving ASB and crime hotspots
- Prevent and Channel
