ParkWatch

ParkWatch

Our Community Response Team are working with partners to trial a new initiative that will give users of parks and open spaces within North Somerset a way of contributing to the safety and wellbeing of areas that they live close to or use regularly.

Similar to the Neighbourhood watch schemes, ParkWatch will be run by registered members and will be supported by Community Response and our partners.

How does ParkWatch work?

The Police and Council need the help from the community in and around local parks to address crime and anti-social behaviour issues.

ParkWatch schemes vary in size and provide a way for local people to play an important part in addressing this balance and making their communities safer.

A volunteer resident Park Co-ordinator supervises the scheme and liaises with Community Response officers and members of the Neighbourhood Police teams (NPT) at regular meetings.

They receive information and messages to keep them in touch with forthcoming activities and issues that have arisen.
