Enforcement roadshow a success

As part of National Licensing Week, North Somerset Council organised a roadshow and enforcement operation in Weston-super-Mare on Friday 23 June. The roadshow took place on the council’s purple StreetSafe bus MAVIS (multi-agency vehicle in service) parked in Princess Royal Square. People enjoying a night out in Weston-super-Mare now have a safe place to go every Saturday night if they need any sort of help. Mavis (multi-agency vehicle in service) provides a hub for police, ambulance, street wardens, street pastors, licensing and other local agencies, enabling them to offer immediate assistance to ensure people enjoy a safe night out. New orders to tackle anti-social behaviour in North Somerset

New orders to tackle anti-social behaviour and make public spaces in North Somerset more welcoming will come into force later this year. North Somerset Council’s Executive has given the go-ahead for a number of Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) to be introduced across the district aimed at preventing individuals or groups of individuals committing anti-social behaviour in public places.
