16 Days of Action to tackle Domestic Abuse

The United Nations Day of Action to eliminate violence against women was launched on Sunday 25th November in Weston-super-Mare by a partnership of Soroptimists, Citizens Advice North Somerset and the Friends of Grove Park.

Campaigners walked to Grove Park where 102 orange ribbons were tied on railings to mark the women who died last year due to domestic abuse. Mayor of Weston Michael Lyall also unveiled the sculpture “Enigmatic Smile” by Soroptimist Anne Woolley in memory of women killed by partner or ex-partner.
