Helping Rough Sleepers
Rough sleepers in North Somerset are being helped week-in, week-out by a range of organisations. We spent the day tweeting about what we, along with other agencies, are doing to help rough sleepers in North Somerset.The series of tweets highlighted various services and agencies who all work together to help and support rough sleepers. The @WestonBID street wardens are out and about in the town centre area every day of the week, day and night. Wardens check on rough sleepers welfare and provide us with a clear picture of which individuals are genuinely homeless and which are professionally begging pic.twitter.com/BwAEzgP9vq

The @SaferStrongerNS CCTV control room operates 24/7 and is linked by radio with @ASPWSM and @WestonBID. Operators monitor the welfare of genuine rough sleepers and capture any incidents of anti-social behaviour caused by professional beggars in Weston's town centre. pic.twitter.com/Hw7RFVL9Mp

Agencies meet every week as part of our Multi-Agency Street Community meetings to devise action plans for each individual to ensure support and guidance is offered.
