MAVIS at the Home Office

Howard Pothecary (Community Safety Manager) and Harry Mills (Community Safety Engagement Apprentice) from the Community Safety Drug Action Team were invited to the Home Office in London on Friday 21 April to do a presentation on MAVIS bus.

This was part of a Local Alcohol Action Areas conference on Safe Spaces in the Evening and Night Time Economy.

This follows our successful application for Weston-super-Mare to be one of 33 areas chosen by the Home Office for the second phase of the Local Alcohol Action Area (LAAA) programme. This programme aims to generate economic growth by creating a safe, vibrant and diverse night-time economy.

Following the presentation Howard and Harry were asked by one of the attendees to talk at a National Alcohol Group conference next week.
